England - Peak District to Yorkshire Dales

Displays in the visitor centre at Castleton describe Peveril Castle as the centre of management for the Royal Forest of the Peak, a royal hunting preserve since the 11th century. We had a look around the village and found Castleton to be what you imagine a classic English Hamlet to look like.
